Annika’s call to serve the Presbyteries of Des Moines, North Central Iowa, and Prospect Hill as Administrative Executive and Stated Clerk brings together her experience in parish ministry, nonprofit contexts, and ecclesial partnerships. Prior to her ordination in 2001, Annika worked in Central America and with immigrant communities. Following her first call as a college chaplain, Annika was Associate Pastor for Evangelism and Fellowship at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Minneapolis for ten years. In 2012 she began her call as Senior Pastor of the Federated Church in Columbus, Nebraska, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and the United Church of Christ. In 2020 she served as Interim Mission Co-Worker with Our Sister Parish, a 25-year partnership between congregations in Iowa and communities in El Salvador. Alongside her responsibilities as Stated Clerk, Annika’s role as Administrative Executive is to support councils, moderators, task forces, and commissions of the presbyteries and to staff the finance, property, and nominating committees. She lives with her spouse and daughter in Des Moines. She enjoys travel with her family and amateur triathlons.
