October 2025 Leadership Council Highlights

Presbytery Leadership Council met in October to reflect on recent work, share updates, and prepare for what’s next. Below are highlights from the meeting.

Upcoming Presbytery Meeting Sites
November 11: Ottumwa
Meetings for 2026 being scheduled with requests being made for Dallas Center, Creston, and Newton as host locations.

Retreat at Lakeshore
Moderators for the three presbyteries have recommended Rev. Steve Shive to serve as our “discernment coach” as the three presbyteries now seek out the best plan for the future. The Leadership Councils of the three presbyteries will be participating in a retreat to be held October 21-23 at Lakeshore Center with Rev. Shive facilitating the discussions.

Budget and Per Capita
Bill Ekhardt reviewed finances and the potential budget for the presbytery’s consideration. A recommended budget and per capita amount was approved and details will be provided at the presbytery meeting.

Leadership Council Moderator for the Next Year
After thought and discussion, Dave Endriss was nominated and elected to serve as moderator of the Leadership Council for the next year.
