11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Heartland Presbyterian in Clive
Join us for a delightful luncheon event that will be jam packed with fun, learning, and opportunities to make a difference! Here’s what we will do:
- After we serve you a delicious homemade soup luncheon…
- We’ll entertain you with music by the First Arabic Youth Choir…
- And present a showing of handmade Sudanese clothing…
- Next, we will recognize longtime AOC volunteer Sandy Wagener (if you know Sandy, please join us!)…
- Then we’ll enjoy a Celebrity Trivia Challenge…
- And conclude with a live auction of great “must-haves!”
Along the way, you will have opportunities to support our ministry to Arabic-speaking refugees and immigrants. Why is this important? There is much suffering in our world today… including in Sudan where many of our clients come from. Escaping the violence and famine there and coming to this country can be a long and arduous journey. Once here, adjusting to life in America is a major challenge. At the AOC, we stand with those who struggle, and lend a helping hand to give hope and love to those in need.
