Support Don Justo Coffee with Dignity

Mar 3, 2023

Tri-Presbytery friends:

In the fall we sent you – all of the churches in all three presbyteries – all the information needed to become involved in the Don Justo Coffee with Dignity mission, which is a part of the Our Sister Parish Inc. mission of the Presbytery of Des Moines. By now you should have had time to look at it. If you have questions, we would be glad to answer those questions. If you have misplaced our information or if you never had a chance to see it, we’re glad to resend you the information. We have made some changes since then and have a newly updated bulletin insert for you to use.

Don Justo Coffee with Dignity was started in 2002 with the sole purpose of making funds for the Our Sister Parish Inc. mission. For 21 years we have been making a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters in El Salvador. We have been located at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola, Iowa since the beginning of 2019 prior to the presbytery office closing, where the home base had been since 2007. We have an entire coffee team at Trinity that consists of coffee sellers and coffee delivery people – locally to Des Moines and around the state. We are open for walk-in business on Saturday mornings at Trinity. We are also available to provide sermons, mission messages or programs, if that would be helpful.

Let us know how we can help get you involved in this mission. Remember, if you place a $100 order, we offer free delivery to anywhere in the state. After the bills are paid, the profits from the Don Justo Coffee with Dignity project are all sent back to the folks at the Pastoral House in Berlín, Usulután, El Salvador where the Presbytery of Des Moines has had a mission presence since 2001.

What is a good way to look at serving Don Justo Coffee in your church? You are spending mission dollars to purchase this wonderful coffee. You’re not just buying coffee to serve your members or friends, which we all do anyway. This is a mission and every dollar spent is used to provide a quality product to sell and provides much-needed support for our brothers and sisters in El Salvador.
