Thank You for Your Prayers for First Arabic Presbyterian Church
As was announced at the presbytery meeting last Saturday, First Arabic Presbyterian Church (FAPC) has been deeply affected by recent gang violence in our city. Lives have been lost, and the Arabic-speaking community is devastated.
Life can be very challenging for immigrant families raising teens. Many parents must work more than one job to make ends meet, so children and youth are often left home alone. Language and cultural differences also play a role for parents dealing with these challenges.
Last Saturday, a meeting was held with parents, city leaders, law enforcement and other professionals to start a process of healing and change. More meetings will be scheduled in the near future. FAPC and its Arabic Outreach Center truly appreciate the prayers of our Presbyterian friends as we seek solutions to this difficult and heart-breaking situation.
