Celebrating the Life, Mission, and Ministry of FPC Greenfield
On behalf of the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield, the Administrative Commission appointed to work alongside the session of FPC Greenfield would like to invite all the congregations of Des Moines Presbytery and all members of the Presbytery to join us for a final worship service celebrating the life, mission, and ministry of the FPC Greenfield on Sunday, April 24 at 3:00 PM after which this congregation will cease to exist in its present form. The mission of the church will continue on through the Greenfield Community Foundation with current church members ensuring that this will happen.
This final service will also include a celebration of the 31-year ministry of the Rev. David Kincaide as pastor of FPC Greenfield as well as his 16-year ministry as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Dexter. The congregation at Dexter will continue its life and ministry, but without the Rev. Kincaide serving as pastor.
A time of fellowship will follow the decommissioning of the church building at the close of the final service. Again, you are invited to join in this 2nd Sunday of Easter final worship service at First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 24.
Congrats to Pastor Kincaid on his many years of service and I was very lucky to learn a lot from him in my days when I was a Pitzer member back in the day before I moved and they ceased. I wish my best to my friends in Greenfield and the church family. Good luck in whatever your future holds, Pastor Kincaid and thank you for all that you taught and helped me with along the way in meetings and any other forms that I am not thinking of.
