Church Explores Intergenerational Learning
by Amy McGriff
The First Presbyterian Church of Oskaloosa has begun working with an intergenerational learning model which brings all ages together to study the Word of God. Classes began in September of 2021 and in December the church held its first all-church play. Ages ranged from 10 to 80. In February the class is also joining the choir to visit the Oskaloosa Care Center to bring pray and music. This will take place during the regular class time. Other activities the group has experienced is welcoming missionaries, learning to read scripture out loud and meeting as a large group that engages in various learning styles including ice breakers, learning key memory verses, writing mission statements, and even making crafts that are donated to others.
