From 1976-1986 the basement of Central Presbyterian Church housed Des Moines Area Religious Council’s new mission: ending hunger and food insecurity in Greater Des Moines. This month marks the 45th anniversary of this interfaith outreach. Today DMARC assists over 58,000 unique individuals on an annual basis.
