Position Description Summary: Engage students of Iowa State University to be involved in the life and ministry of the Vine student group of College Presbyterian Church collaborating with both student and congregational leaders in continuing development, implementation and evaluation of the campus ministry. 

The United Church of Faith in Keota, Iowa is searching to fill a Part-time (estimated 18 hours per week) Temporary Pastor position.  Keota is a town of 1000 people approx. 45 miles SW of Iowa City.  The UCF is a congregation of God’s people and we will always find ourselves adapting to changing dynamics of a rural community.  This is evidenced by the merging of Baptist, Christian, Methodist and Presbyterian congregations within the last 80 years as God has continually found ways for us to work together.  Relationships and worship have provided the foundation upon which our church community has and will continue to prevail.  Our community has been blessed with a good school system, good businesses, fire department, and library. 

Central Presbyterian Church, 3829 Grand Avenue, in Des Moines, is seeking a part-time custodian to be responsible for the overall cleanliness of the church building interior and for maintaining an environment of hospitality for members and visitors.  Work hours: 12 hours/week, with some flexibility on days and times.  Education/experience required: high school diploma or GED, and 2 years of prior custodial/janitorial work.  Compensation: $11-12/hour.  A full job description and employment application are available here.  

Covenant Presbyterian Church in West Des Moines is looking to fill a transitional position. The Transitional Pastor (TP) will lead worship, assist with pastoral care, provide support for administrative duties, educational programs, larger church events and mission activities. This is a half-time position (20-25 hours per week).

Worship

  • TP will lead worship each Sunday. If the TP is unable to lead a worship service, the TP will be responsible for securing pulpit supply.
  • TP will preside at the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper monthly and perform the Sacrament of Baptism when needed.
  • TP will perform funerals and weddings as requested by families.

Interim Pastor Job Description and Responsibilities

 The Interim Pastor (IP) will lead worship, assist with pastoral care, provide administrative duties, and be involved in educational programs, larger church events, and mission activities.  This is a half-time position (20 – 25 hours per week).

Worship

  • IP will lead worship on a weekly basis.
  • IP will preach engaging sermons with little reliance on notes
  • IP will preside at the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper monthly, Sacrament of baptism, funerals, and weddings as needed

This engaging and welcoming church is seeking an energetic full-time Youth Ministry Director/Associate Pastor to lead its youth program; serving and caring for middle and high school students and their families.

Westminster Presbyterian Church (http://www.wpc-online.org), a large, growing, and vibrant community of faith in Greenville, SC, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor for Youth Ministries. The church is very active in the community and boasts a long-term youth ministry program. Westminster possesses a strong commitment to educating youth on the importance of being active members of church and society. Much of the ministry is done through forming, nurturing, and developing individual relationships with youth members. 

 

First Presbyterian Church is looking for a creative, energetic person to become our full-time Director of Christian Education and Music. This position will have equal responsibilities for both Christian Education and Music.  This shall include planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive Christian education program for children and adults, as well as serving as Choir Director and working with the pastor in planning worship service.

Must be able to work with all types of individuals, be organized and be creative.  A bachelor’s degree in education with training in Christian Education and Music is preferred but not required.
