Interim Pastor Job Description and Responsibilities

 The Interim Pastor (IP) will lead worship, assist with pastoral care, provide administrative duties, and be involved in educational programs, larger church events, and mission activities.  This is a half-time position (20 – 25 hours per week).

Worship

  • IP will lead worship on a weekly basis.
  • IP will preach engaging sermons with little reliance on notes
  • IP will preside at the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper monthly, Sacrament of baptism, funerals, and weddings as needed

This engaging and welcoming church is seeking an energetic full-time Youth Ministry Director/Associate Pastor to lead its youth program; serving and caring for middle and high school students and their families.

The congregation of First Presbyterian Church of Corning is looking for an interim pastor for a period of twelve months.  The position of Interim Pastor is a three-quarter time position averaging thirty hours per week. 

Westminster Presbyterian Church (http://www.wpc-online.org), a large, growing, and vibrant community of faith in Greenville, SC, is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor for Youth Ministries. The church is very active in the community and boasts a long-term youth ministry program. Westminster possesses a strong commitment to educating youth on the importance of being active members of church and society. Much of the ministry is done through forming, nurturing, and developing individual relationships with youth members. 

 

First Presbyterian Church is looking for a creative, energetic person to become our full-time Director of Christian Education and Music. This position will have equal responsibilities for both Christian Education and Music.  This shall include planning, coordinating and implementing a comprehensive Christian education program for children and adults, as well as serving as Choir Director and working with the pastor in planning worship service.

Must be able to work with all types of individuals, be organized and be creative.  A bachelor’s degree in education with training in Christian Education and Music is preferred but not required.

Our Next Stated Meeting Is:

All-Iowa Presbyterian Gathering

Friday & Saturday, June 2-3, 2017

The 508th Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Des Moines will be part of the All-Iowa Presbyterians Gathering in Ames, June 2-3. You are invited and encouraged to come for the weekend and enjoy connecting with Presbyterians from across our state. Our featured speaker will be the new PC(USA) Stated Clerk Rev. Dr. J. Herbert Nelson, noted leader on issues of social justice. The meeting will take place at Collegiate Presbyterian Church.
 
The meeting will begin with dinner on Friday night, followed by worship and fellowship. Saturday activities include breakfast, a keynote address, Communion worship, lunch and our presbytery meeting. In addition, all singers are invited to join the choir on Friday night. Rehearsal will be held just prior to the worship service. Sign up for the choir on the registration form.
