Prayers requested for those suffering in South Sudan

The Sudanese Support Team of the Presbytery of Des Moines is asking for prayers for South Sudan.  Conflict and violence are again ravaging South Sudan, resulting in a growing humanitarian crisis. Tens of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes and are in danger of dying from starvation or disease. With relatives back in their homeland, our presbytery's Sudanese congregation, First Arabic Presbyterian, is deeply affected by this conflict.

Please pray for peace and hope for the people of South Sudan, and for those in our local Sudanese congregation as well.
