This year a record number of 1,764 children were provided with a new backpack filled with the basic supplies needed to begin their school year. Even though we initially purchased and prepared supplies for 1,500 children, additional backpacks and materials were donated from an array of businesses, churches, and private individuals making it possible for us to continue handing out filled backpacks to an extra 264 children.

At the recent 508th Stated Meeting of the Presbytery of Des Moines at Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, the Committee on Preparation for Ministry celebrated with three adults who have chosen to become a Teaching Elder in the PC(USA).
